Metro acquired a residential property at the confluence of Johnson and Brigman Creeks with the intent to restore the ecological values of the site. Mr. Gorman served as the lead engineer and project manager, providing the site assessment, wetland delineation, determination of opportunities and constraints, hydrologic modeling of the Brigman Creek basin, oversight of the hydraulic modeling, restoration design, negotiations with the regulatory agencies, preparation of plans and specifications, project management, and client management. Plans and specifications were prepared to provide fish passage on Brigman Creek, restore instream habitat for native fish, expand riparian wetlands, add large wood instream for fish cover and structure, reconnect the floodplain, and add amphibian breeding habitat. Mr. Gorman provided construction oversight for the removal of three dams and one bridge and the installation of large wood structures on Brigman Creek during the 2017 construction season.
