GE, Housatonic River Remediation – Pittsfield, Massachusetts

Mr. Gorman provided analysis of stream bank stabilization alternatives for approximately 10 miles of the Housatonic River contaminated with PCBs.  The primary objective of the analysis was to maximize the use of bioengineering methods to stabilize eroding streambanks that contain PCB contamination and to provide greater opportunities for more rapid and beneficial riparian zone revegetation and ecological recovery after PCB contamination removal.
