Proposed gravel mining activity in the Yakima River floodplain by the client will impact significant freshwater wetland resources.  To assist the client in mitigation of proposed impacts, Mr. Gorman conducted hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of conditions for an offsite 20-acre mitigation that had been ditched and drained for agricultural purposes.  He prepared a grading plan and designed natural material rock control structures to raise shallow groundwater and soil saturation levels to restore wetland hydrology.  Mr. Gorman designed the control structures to provide fish passage through the site for native trout.
